From a place of love, continued...

Actually I wasn’t familiar with the word “altruism” until I stumbled on it during my reading in my practicum class, I had to actually look it up. To give selflessly is not something I experienced until I became a mother (during my twenties) and suddenly, I got it. Actually I think I was quite selfish until I became a parent.

While I was mourning the failure of my marriage I started volunteering at a local nonprofit. It has now been 8 years I have been volunteering for this domestic violence and sexual assault shelter and this “giving” has gifted back to me in many ways. The energy seemed to breath life and color back into my world. It has shaped me as a person. It sparked a passion in me that I wasn’t sure I even held. As my world evolved it opened a path for me to go back to school and recreate myself in a helping profession as a Mental Health counselor.  I’m not sure this would have come forward had I not stretched out extending my hands to help strengthen my community and as a result I have been strengthened. I could have never imagined the positive impact this has had on me.

Does your world need improvement? If so, discover the energy that incases altruism. Give from the heart because when you do your heart will grow 10 fold. It is a loop of karma that feels better than just about anything I can think of; give it a shot and then let me know how it has positively impact you.

Soul work, continued...

As I said in the Examiner article, over the course of 8 hours in the Brian Weiss’ workshop, I was able to experience several meditations and/or past life regression exercises. So the challenge for me was to determine if this was my active imagination offering up the imagery I saw or if it was a path that enabled me to tap into lives I have once lived? I am not really sure but I know that I wasn’t sleeping (at least during the AM exercises). I did actually dose off during the last meditation. It wasn’t that I lost interest but I was up until the wee morning hours the night previous so I was just tired as the day neared its end.

When I first regressed I saw many things: an image of Jesus Christ on the cross, a British flag, an Indian man (he seemed like a medicine man; he had long gray hair, a wrinkled face and he held his arms out as an off-white blanket wrapped around his shoulders and draped down his arms), a older woman (she looked like she was from India; she had a tight, smooth face with a stern express. It looked like she had endured a lot of suffering. When she first came into view, it was a quite clear profile and then she turned her head towards me and I saw that her right eye did not have an eyeball in it. The socket had skin overgrown inside it like a serious wound had taken her eye and it then healed/mended on its own), and I also saw a white dove.

I believe I have an angel guide named white dove. This had surfaced several times in previous psychic readings and other exercises. I know this seems a bit hokey pokey but I believe this to be the case.

Do you believe in reincarnation? I am interested in your thoughts. Leave me a comment.

Anne Kolsky continued the interview.

In her words, “I am now working as a Registered Nurse and I am able to help so many people
through this forum and through my business. I get to help people with their
health and I give 50% of my proceeds to various ministries and humanitarian
causes. It's all about helping people just as I had been helped. It truly
 is paying it forward.”

Anne is sharing her story of perseverance in hopes others who are suffering similar circumstances can be empowered by her strength. Many of us are too proud to seek help and allow others to step in, I especially like how Anne benefited from community support and how she is giving back today by passing help forward to others!

If you are inspired by Anne’s story, perhaps something resonated with you, leave a comment.

Life pace, continued...

The article Life Pace was inspired by Day 21 of the latest Oprah & Deepak called Radiating Wholeness. As I meditated on this topic and listened to the dialogue they shared it made me think about all that we do in our lives today. We are master multi-taskers and without this skill, where would we be? I often wonder if I’d be more stressed if I did one thing at a time or if my life would sacrifice from this dumbing down process”. It sounds harsh when I word it this way but I feel like productivity is really important to me but the reality is if I slowed down, I think the pressure would lessen in proportion.

This concept to me is really a work in progress. I love slowing down when I’m being creative but I strategically fit this type of activity into little slots in my life, it will take me some time and practice before I’m able to step out of bed embracing this mindset 24/7.

What are your thoughts about living life at a slower pace? Is it doable for you or can you relate to me and you feel it’s equally as difficult?

Processing anger, continued...

If I have a friend or loved one in this miserable, unhappy mode, because I am a pretty direct person, I might offer a supportive, “Help me understand what is bothering you,“ comment. It is good to encourage conversation. Ultimately, if the person suffering is unable to face this pain, it is important to encourage him or her to seek counseling otherwise this toxic energy will destroy their physical health.

It is amazing to me how therapeutic talking can be. If you know someone who isn’t good about sharing their feelings, they can be channeled through other methods such as art therapy. Just by drawing a simple picture, with the help of a therapist, much can be said through this silent voice.

As the article says, “unexpressed anger comes out as either isolation, withdrawal, criticism or blame.”

This doesn’t sound healthy does it? Why would anyone live his or her life this way? Because, it takes courage to face anger, and, it isn’t easy but I believe you can do it!
