Developing intuition, continued...

I am currently trying to increase my meditation time from 20 minutes a few times a week to 20 minutes twice a day. It is a difficult task. Somehow, everything else seems to take priority although I have to seriously make a better effort to manifest this sacred time for me.

Meditation calms me and helps inspire my world. I love the feeling I get when I am able to close my eyes and arrive into this peaceful zone. And, when I am actively meditating, I do feel more spiritually connected. It gifts me with a tolerance for just about anything my life throws in my way.

I do like how Dr. Ireland calls the development of the intuitive gifts, natural unfoldment. He cautions individuals to move slowly and not to rush the process. I can’t even imagine how in tune you must be in order to read someone and/or interface with the spirit. I am excited about the potential of learning this “intuitive knowing.” I know many believe this to be fake but I do believe there are some very gifted individuals in this world. Dr. Ireland seems like he was one of these people.

What are your thoughts about psychics? Are you an intuitive person? I’m curious. Leave me a note.

Synchronistic living, continued...

It is funny how life will blossom once you embrace your soul work. Since I’ve began my transition in allowing my spirit to lead, I have started to realize synchronistic living. Yes, I do the work and I keep pushing forward but I pay more attention to what “feels right.” Things really do open and line up in a way that makes me feel that a higher power is guiding me. I wouldn’t say it gets easier because I continue to have to push outside of my comfort zone although as I do, I grow.

Recently I finished a group therapy class in my Mental Health Master’s program. This class really intrigued me. So much so, I have decided I need to seriously look at this as potentially part of my future.

Several days after the class ended, an organization where I’ve volunteered at sent an email out asking for volunteer support in their group counseling area. I start my training next week.

I’ve volunteered for almost 8 years at this facility and this is the first time this opportunity has surfaced.

Coincidence? I really don’t think so, this is synchronistic living; it is pretty great.

What are your thoughts about this?

I love Mark Nepo's quote, “We are all continually asked to learn how to ask for what we need only to practice accepting what we’re given.” This is really insightful. When I think about this, it reminds me about practicing to be in the present (living my truth), living and accepting right where I am, this really is all about surrendering to what we’re given instead of spending our time in thoughts of the future, wishing for more. This is when we’re sometimes forced to differentiate from our needs and our wants, to simply things. This is usually hard to swallow especially when it is forced on us through hardship such as job loss or other situations that cause downsizing.

At times when we’re asking for God’s help, could it be he is already present and we’re just so distracted with our wants we’re unable to feel him or notice this celestial presence? This is the message I got when I listened to Mark share his story on Oprah’s Super Soul Sunday.

It is a great take away!

I was raised with the thought that money is the root of all evil but I don't believe this to be the case. Yes, it does surface much emotion but whether it energizes darkness or light, this is a choice of the beholder.

I have stressed much of my life over money; it was a learned behavior for me. Being raised in an economically poor household, these circumstances from my childhood instilled an unhealthy perspective of money for me.

I thought I had to have it growing up so I chased it as a primary means of my career choice and this, in turn, manifested unhappiness in my life. Yes, I had a healthy bank account but this didn't align with my spirit.

Today, I'm learning to view this currency as energy. It comes and goes; this is how it is intended to be. I must trust in God (as our money states) when my financials are weak, electrons will be pushed my way and this inflow will balance all that I need. In turn, I must remember to help others and reciprocate this universal abundance. By helping another, I am truly helping myself; we are one!

Share your thoughts about money; does thinking about it as energy help you find a positive perspective?

Mark Ireland’s story is really interesting to me. I am in awe when I read about his father’s work and how Mark is carrying this baton in his own and unique way. It must have been pretty amazing to gain insight from his dad growing up and to continue to learn from these teachings beyond his father’s physical existence.

I appreciate Mark’s perspective about life after death. I too reached beyond the grave seeking answers in the aftermath of my father’s death. Like Mark, I have had paranormal interface and psychic experiences, which have validated my belief.

What I like most about Mark’s book, Soul Shift, Finding Where the Dead Go is the way he established his claim supportive of biblical scripture.

I grew up learning teachings from the church, which chastised psychic work as being of the devil. This never set well with me. I believe anyone who is able to see through the veil, beyond the physical, and use this extraordinary gift to shine light into someone’s darkness is doing work of the Lord.

Mark’s book is well written. It offers much food for thought about life, intuitiveness and life after death.  As I stated in the article, it is truly a worthwhile read.

Breast cancer and your diagnosis, continued...

I have Fibrocystic breast. According to NLM.NIH.Gov, these are lumpy breast. This means when I go for a mammogram I have always had to go to a follow up visit for an ultrasound to view a lump that’s been there for years.

Although, a couple of years ago, the day after Halloween, I had to go one step further and visit the surgeon to have a lump, which turned out to be a cyst, tested. The surgeon used a needle to drain the cyst, which basically dissolved it.

I was extremely stressed. I imagined a lot of horrible stuff over the few days between the ultrasound and the 45 minutes I spent on the table with the surgeon.

I remember sitting in the waiting room and looking at all of the anxious women who surrounded me. I knew these women, just like me, were farther along in this process and a good portion of the people in this room would be given the horrible diagnosis of cancer. It was a sobering experience.  I tried to make peace with my circumstances as I sat on the edge of this life changing moment.

I was lucky that day; my prayer for the others was to allow them to be lucky enough to survive whatever diagnosis they received at that time.

I have not had my mammogram yet this year although I am working with my doctor to figure out what is draining my health. I’ve had some undiagnosed symptoms and once I’ve figured out what is causing these, I’ll get back on track with other healthy visit testing like my mammogram.
I take my health seriously and I’m hopeful you are doing the same.

Whatever you’re feeling, don’t take it for granted. Cherish your life and do this by going to the doctor for well visits such as mammogram appointments. It is the best gift you can give to you and to those whom you love!
