It doesn’t seem so long ago when my soon to be 19 year old and 21 year old sons were holding on tight to my hands as we ventured into the world; a world that I worked diligently to protect them from. Perhaps I was a helicopter mom and hovered too much but it was what I felt I had to do to keep them safe. As they got older they would tell you that I didn’t let them do anything by themselves!

I must admit it has been a struggle to let them grow up and feel their way into the world.

I love Deepak’s words I shared in the article, “The entire spiritual path could be described as learning to let go, but letting go all at once isn’t possible. This is a path of many small steps, a process of replacing automatic reactions with deepened awareness...  Allow Spirit to lead.”

This “learning to let go” process is scary and humbling; it is a big part of motherhood and a big part of life in general. Deepak wasn’t talking about motherhood in his article; he was offering ways to surrender to change that is out of one’s control. The message resonates when you have adult children.

Awareness seems to be the key to most any trouble, without gaining a perspective of what is actually going on, how can we fix it. The bottom line is if we can’t fix something that is out of our control to fix then we must fix our perspective otherwise the stress will be toxic to our health. Many of us get stuck here and it isn’t a pleasant place to be stuck!

Are you struggling with something that is beyond your power to control? Let’s talk about it.

For most mothers, I believe it is rare for them to spend much time in the spotlight, we usually are happy to step back into the shadows to enable a loved one to take in a moment and feel blessed. When our children stumble we are quick to lend a hand to help them up; sometimes we do this time and time again. As mothers we are full of hope for our kids, inspired about the potential we see within each of them. It is really a miraculous journey to birth a human being and nurture this little person into a contributing, warm-hearted adult; there is nothing to compare to this experience!

I mentioned in the article that I believe most mothers are really grateful to get time with their children, especially adult children. I once interviewed my mom for this column and I learned a lot about her; it was a fun experience for me and she shined in the spotlight. She absolutely loved my curiosity and interest about her life. Another project I did with my  mom was pull all of her photo albums out to scan them and make photo albums for my siblings. My mom absolutely loved talking about the old photos; she lit up!

I challenge you to learn something new about your mom while you still can; you may think you know everything about her but you don’t. Enjoy the task and take note in how this interest shifts her energy.

We are blessed by the nurturers in our life; let’s show them our love!

According to Michele Knight my aura colors, green and purple would mean, “For example, if someone has a lot of green and purple around them, it’s likely that they also have strong psychic abilities and a good dose of healing ability and unconditional love to boot.” Pretty cool, huh?

Those who are in the psychic or even into spirituality believe that the aura is a life force or energy that enables someone to read feelings and emotions and even physical ailments or flow based on any blocks that is seen connected to chakras.

PagansPath.com explains more interpretation about aura reading:

"In certain circumstances, red equals anger, brown equals deception. Therefore a reddish brown aura would be a combination of both.

The clarity or brightness of the color also plays a key role in color interpretation. Very often a color that appears cloudy has the opposite meaning of it's vibrant and clear counterpart.

A vibrant yellow generally means the subject is successful and modest. A dull or cloudy yellow indicates frustration and a tendency to be vain…

A clear, vibrant, and consistent yellow about the head indicates intelligence, wisdom, and success. But if just one of these parameters is modified, the meaning of the color can change. A vibrant yellow around the chest area could indicate compassion, patience and a willingness to give.

You may see a color localized in a specific area (as in the example above). But if you look at the entire aura overall, regardless of layers or color, you may see a hole in the aura. This could indicate a dysfunction in the physical body, such as disease or injury. In most cases the injury or illness may not even be apparent in the physical, but rather is in the beginning stages. This type of deformity in the aura is indicative of long standing problems, such as ulcers, cancer etc. These types of physical ailments use a great deal of energy to form within the body. The hole is an indication that the body is drained of it's recuperative powers and is being forced to pull energy from outside itself in order to feed a symptom inside the body.

In some cases you might see a dent in the aura in a particular location. The aura is not always perfectly egg shaped as often seen in pictures or books. It can be completely flat on one side, or "s" shaped on another. This can occur for two reasons. The most common is an intrusion or interruption has occurred to the subject.

If a person walks past, very close to you, they may unintentionally steal some of your energy. If someone suddenly reaches out and grabs your arm, they are interrupting the flow of energy around your body. An example of this might be a time when you were talking to someone and you thought they were standing to close to you. You may have even thought to yourself, "They're in my space." and backed away. Even this slight intrusion into your aura or 'space' can interrupt the flow of energy.

The second cause is similar to seeing a hole in the overall aura. Curves or dents in the aura can also be an indication that a physical injury has occurred and the body is pulling energy in to heal itself. The key to making the correct determination in these cases is to look at the color associated with the disfigurement. If the major color around the dent, for instance, is green, then the deformity probably indicates an illness. If however, the color is lavender, this it is more likely that an interruption of the energy field has occurred.”

The article goes on to talk about how our thoughts and emotions impact our auros. Is this to hokey pokey for you? I actually believe in this stuff and I believe that when we are accountable for the energy we carry, we can be a light in the world instead of increasing the dark energy within it.

It is all pretty interesting to me, what are your thoughts?

Misfortune is opportunity, continued...

Prince Daniels Jr. continued the interview.

His advice to others suffering,

1. “Take time to diagnose the problem, but not too long. Meditate. Be mindful of yourself and what you do as a person. Once you learn yourself, you are more mindful as to how you treat others. Eventually you will see yourself within him or her.

2. Talk to yourself and put together a plan of action. Close your eyes (meditate) and really focus on what you would like to see for yourself. Believe that your dreams can and will come true!

3. Start working towards your vision. If you don’t know how, hint: use your imagination. Albert Einstein mentioned it.”

His closing words, “We the people of today’s society are so concerned about what is happening to us externally that we negate the malfunction of our internal affairs and problems. We all live on this ONE planet called Earth and we have to be able to co-exist and help one another evolve. We have stopped communicating with one another based upon perception of differences. We must ask ourselves what is it that we are doing to collectively contribute to normalizing this worldly chaos?

I can’t urge people more to meditate. Meditating helps us in so many ways. Closing your eyes is cost efficient, meaning it won’t cost you anything to close yours eyes and adore your mind, thoughts and your heart."
