I am currently participating in a psychotherapy group, which is required for my Mental Health Counseling Master’s Degree. This is my 4th semester and, so far, this is my favorite class. I like this class because it is hands on for me. Yes, we are reading a textbook and we have homework but we are actually going through the therapy and, each individual within the group, brings in his or her own problem. This is far better than just reading and discussing a textbook.

Each member has his or her own unique response to others too. We also get to see how the therapist pokes and prods to get to the root of the problem tactfully.

It really is quite a magical experience.

I highly recommend it to anyone who is struggling socially; you gain critical relationships through this process. Give it a try!

Have you been in group therapy? If so, how did it work for you? I’m here to listen.

Fear of change, continued...

I have, for the most part, pushed through change when it has presented itself in my life. Regardless how big or little, I have faced it straight on. On the surface I look brave but inside I'm always a mess. And, in the aftermath, regardless of the outcome, I'm always sick to my stomach from the stress. But, I have to admit, the more I do something, the easier it gets.

The shift I'm embracing today and I've been wrapping my mind around over the past couple years, has been a transition from a payroll position to my own business. The business of reaching out to others with a message of Life Healing Art; that creativity is a healing gift. I believe this with my whole soul and my passion for this is overpowering. I'm now working to help others find this holistic path. It is both the most rewarding and the most challenging endeavor I've ever taken on and the work has just begun! I will continue to push forward embracing this work and believing in myself and my mission. I'm hopeful it will take off and I'll retire in this humanitarian role. Will this be a successful business? I hope so but maybe not. Will it be a personal success for me regardless? Absolutely!

Regardless of the outcome, I am fueling my passion and this is enabling my spirit to soar. It is where I need to be right now and, as difficult as this is, I am sure I'm supposed to taking this journey.

Tell me about the change in your life right now. I'm curious.

I believe I am more motivated than most. Or, perhaps the unmotivated person lives within me but I continue to push this person out of the way. I believe in Life Healing Art and my creative passion fuels a fire to continue to push forward and share my message. Of course, at times I get burned out. I have waves of motivation, burn out and renewal. Although, I'm confident I control the waves so instead of letting the water knock me off of my feet, I ride the wave and choose when to float when I need time to retreat.

I rested in February, treading lightly while educating myself in the publishing world I am starting to realize. My vacation from the grind of my "to do" list has re-ignited my flame and fueled my drive 10 fold. I'm excited about conquering the media market. I believe I will reach new markets and help people in a larger scale. As I continue to achieve my dream, I'll inform you of my progress, failure and revised game-plan along the way!

What are you working to achieve? Leave a comment and share your story. I would love to hear from you!
