I met Ann Marie Hoff on Facebook and quickly learned about her gift. She is passionate about helping people and animals. I do believe there are people in this world, like Ann Marie, who are sensitive enough to be able to connect to the other side. I'm so intrigued by this gift and grateful to those who use their connection to help others. It really takes it to the next level when they can read animals.
Anyone who is an animal lover knows how our 4-legged friends are just as unique in personality as people. So, when someone reads your animal and they are able to tap into this unique personality and share insight they could have never known as a stranger, it is really something! I once had my cat, Scruples, read and it still amazes me to this day. Pretty cool stuff!
How do you feel about this? Can you share?
My blog, Inspirations by Kathryn J. Raths includes posts from 2009 to 2016 that were an extension of my Healthy Living Examiner column which has been closed. However, the articles are being revamped as an extension of Kathryn J. Raths.com, which is in the making! The image is a self-portrait I drew in oil pastels; the woods gift me a deep connection with nature and safety!

I met Essie through Facebook and it didn't take long for me to realize she is a loving soul! She invited me to be a guest host in a pet bereavement chatroom, at the Animal Love and Loss Network, which she is involved.
She has been an angel to me. The experience of touching and soothing others just 1 week before I would have to suffer the loss of my cat, helped prepare me in a way. Who would have known?
Essie has coped through much loss and suffering and she has been able to empower herself in its aftermath. She is a strong person!
She values her family; she has found a way to stop resisting the inevitable changes involved with her Dad's Alzheimer's condition providing her the opportunity to continue to love and appreciate her every moment with him. She lost Smoke but only physically; she is able to still feel her beautiful dog with her!
Her story is very empowering. Have you had any parallel experiences that overlapped from your world with a loved one and your world with a pet similar to Essie's? If so, can you share it with me?

In case you are wondering, the actor who displayed "agony" in the article is my boyfriend's dog and mine by default, Ronnie. He is quite a character!
I know many people, including myself, who have been in this dramatic and draining position with their pet. And, unless you are a true animal lover, this type of trauma is confusing; many non-animal lovers write off these little babies as less than a life which is really WRONG!
I struggled with the thought of ending my cat's life, Scruples, in his last year. I had taken him to 2 vets and both told me, he was still very much alive and comfortable. I was prepared to end his suffering had they told me he was in pain. He passed on God's watch but as he struggled with his last breaths, I wondered if I should have put him down. We all feel guilt regardless of the decision; it is just plain hard to think of either aspect!
I'm sure Scruples knew I loved him and I was with him for twenty years, right to his last breath. I miss him so much I can't even describe it. I know you can relate.
Can you share any of your pet memories or miracles? I would love to read about them!
