You can tell Bob enjoys nature and its inhabitants based on his description of where he lives, "We live on the edge of a shoe-sucking swamp near the West Michigan village of Lowell. When we're not fending off mosquitoes during temperate months we're chipping ice out of plastic wading pools in the frigid winter."
He truly loves his pets, all 53 of them although Bob noted his cats are the most mischievous! Being a cat lover myself, I can certainly understand this statement. They are little characters. I couldn't imagine having birds and cats as pets; it must keep him pretty busy just making sure the cats aren't sizing up the birds for a snack!
It amazes me how we can mentor, love and teach one another to live together in harmony even when they are predators of each other!

I met Ann Marie Hoff on Facebook and quickly learned about her gift. She is passionate about helping people and animals. I do believe there are people in this world, like Ann Marie, who are sensitive enough to be able to connect to the other side. I'm so intrigued by this gift and grateful to those who use their connection to help others. It really takes it to the next level when they can read animals.
Anyone who is an animal lover knows how our 4-legged friends are just as unique in personality as people. So, when someone reads your animal and they are able to tap into this unique personality and share insight they could have never known as a stranger, it is really something! I once had my cat, Scruples, read and it still amazes me to this day. Pretty cool stuff!

Princess is my service dog, continued...

I'm so intrigued by the relationship between Princess and Kelly; it is so special, loving and critical! Kelly helped educate me about the intelligence of animals; they are such amazing little creatures. Not only dogs but cats, lamas and many others are also trained to help people in need.
It really does reinforce that animals can support us mentally and physically. Princess is Kelly's little angel here on earth and it warms my heart to have learned about their relationship!

Pets teach you to love, continued...

The sweet looking, big-eyed and fury friend in the photo is my Mom's (formerly my Dad's) little confidant. Cody was my Dad's world, of course, besides my Mom. He followed him everywhere! My Dad, inappropriately, shared coffee & candy with Cody all the time regardless of our voiced disapproval. Unfortunately, it caught up with him. The day before my Dad's funeral, Cody's face was swollen and we had to take him to the vet; he ended up losing 10 teeth! I joked that Dad didn't need his dentures anymore although my Mom didn't think it was too funny. The crazy thing is, my Dad loved this dog so much, he would have happily given up his teeth if required!

Suffering loss, continued...

It was hard for me to create an inspirational article today considering I watched my baby, Scruples, take his last breath yesterday morning. This little four-legged blessing was a pillar in my world for twenty years. He supported me through so much hardship. He helped me endure a divorce, betrayal, lost loved ones, job loss, health issues and I could go on and on! All he expected was unconditional love and tasty food in return. I am so grateful for my years with him and the void in my heart feels like it will last an eternity.
He was my little angel dressed in character of a cat and I miss him horribly. I'm not sure where I'm at in the stages of grief or how long it will take me to feel well again but I'm sure that I'm in the trenches of sorrow and it really hurts!
I'm hopeful my logical mind will over power my heart and allow me to find happiness in his memory in my near future but only time will tell. Are you suffering a loss? If so, what has helped you to move forward? Are you stuck, share your story with me.
