Have you ever visited someone’s home where disagreement wasn’t allowed and the house felt quietly uncomfortable? It is almost as bad as an unhealthy environment filled with arguments. Do these kids grow up ignoring issues and struggling because they are unable to properly stick up for themselves? It makes me wonder.
I grew up in a home where arguments were common, perhaps too common, so for me it was a way of life. As I matured into an adult I realized that my hot headed temper wasn’t appropriate. I figured it was best to strengthen my listening skills and polish my vocabulary so, when challenged, I could think fast, hold firm to my beliefs and lead a healthy debate.
It really is the best option for all involved. What type of environment did you develop in, can you tell me about it?
My blog, Inspirations by Kathryn J. Raths includes posts from 2009 to 2016 that were an extension of my Healthy Living Examiner column which has been closed. However, the articles are being revamped as an extension of Kathryn J. Raths.com, which is in the making! The image is a self-portrait I drew in oil pastels; the woods gift me a deep connection with nature and safety!

Wow, what more can I say about Rita Edwards, she is a real hero! I love her passion and energy. She did everything possible to make sure that the breeder she had gotten her precious Scrabble from, couldn't continue to harm and kill other animals through neglect. Rita could have walked away like most would or maybe went above the average person by saving her puppy and just moving on with her life but instead she not only saved her baby, she saved the lives of countless others. You can follow the Examiner article link to Rita's website to watch TV News clips regarding her story and learn much more about healthy animal adoption. Today, she is using her story to empower others. Pretty amazing!
Do you have any stories of heroes you can share? If so, send them in I really love learning about others who fight for justice!

Denial is a refusal to acknowledge, continued...

Denial is a pretty powerful hindrance found in most of our everyday lives. If you are human, you have embraced this concept at some point. Hopefully, as you've matured into an adult, you were able to recognize it more quickly and put it in its place before it caused too much havoc in your world.
For me, it is very difficult to play a side-line role to this when a friend is actively numbing out reality. I'm someone who really doesn't hold back, and as you can imagine, this can be both good and bad. I'm somewhat polished and tactful so I try to make sure timing is in my favor when confronting a loved one with subtle education of reality. I'm sure I've lost friends in the past but, I'm also sure, they weren't true friends if we didn't have a relationship that was based on honesty. I believe core, sincere friendship can endure any trial and tribulation. And, I appreciate commentary from others about my life, when it comes from a loving place.
Today, I'm feeling better than ever with the blessings I have manifested in my life and I believe I'm on the right track. I just take baby steps, deep breaths and continue to push forward embracing reality. I took my glasses off in 2008 and it really is a beautiful and fulfilling picture outside of them.
Are you facing the truths of your life? Can you share them with me?

Pandora was the first woman used to punish mankind, continued...

I believe we all have soul mates on this earth and these individuals are very attractive to their counterpart. Although, sometimes we may not realize this at first. Maybe your heart is closed at the time you meet yours or you're in another relationship and 1st must learn a lesson or two before you can meet your heavenly match but regardless it isn't only about outer appearance.
Have you ever met someone who didn't really appeal to you at first but after getting to know them, suddenly you were attracted to them? This is a situation where inner beauty came to the surface and won you over!
If you are lucky, you'll find a diamond in the rough. You might not see it this way but it will be someone who sweeps you off your feet (surprisingly) and it is someone who accentuates your core being taking you to a whole different level!
Remember the lesson from Pandora's box and let it help you find your way to true love!

Leonora Gregory has certainly faced adversity and chose a path to inspire and persevere. Her work warms my heart. She has found a way to gift others by educating them through her experiences. She created a community through hard work and compassion to help others; both autistic and those supporting loved ones learning to embrace an autistic lifestyle.
She is an amazing woman who makes this world a better place to live!
Do you know anyone who gives back in a positive way, if so, share their story with me.

This week my cat, Charcoal, decided to cuddle on my shoulder and in my neck while I was working on my laptop. Needless to say, the next day when I awoke, I had some serious poison ivy right where she had cuddled. I'm sure she had to have been rolling around in a patch outside before she decided to gift me with her love!
I could have cancelled appointments or rescheduled and whined about it but instead I embraced the fashion of sleeveless turtle-necks and continued through my commitments. Yes, I would have liked to have felt healthier but for some reason, it wasn't in my cards this week! I do love my little girl but I'm not feeling to receptive to her at the moment; this to will pass:)
What adversity are you up against this week, can you share?
